World without plastic islands

A world without plastic islands

Unfortunately, yes, they do exist.

It takes a short time to drink from a plastic cup or bottle or using a straw; it can happen that we make a mistake, get distracted, and the package ends up in the sea. Over time, the plastic crumbles, but does not disappear completely because it is eaten by fish (and then by other animals or by us). The problem of microplastics is now terribly well known. It has even been discovered in Antarctica.
This should make you realise how important every action we take, directly or indirectly, is for our planet.

There are studies carried out by the Universities of Georgia and California, which have found that plastic has grown from 2 million tonnes in 1950 (when it was first produced) to 400 million in 2015, even surpassing many other man-made materials such as steel and concrete.
It is difficult to think of an object that does not contain polymers, even in a small part. Plastic has become one of the products that best characterise our everyday life. Our life. It is recent history to pay attention to these problems and to try to find more environmentally friendly solutions, but the damage has now been done.

Plastic only degrades completely over hundreds of years. It is not an easily biodegradable material. If disposed of incorrectly, it causes pollution.
There are already artificial islands in the sea that have formed spontaneously through the accumulation of waste of various sizes and billions of microscopic, lightweight fragments that have the ability to disperse everywhere, to mix with plankton and enter directly into the food chain. To this must be added the several thousand marine animals (mammals, turtles, birds) that are killed by plastic objects they have eaten or in which they have become trapped.
This waste is not limited to the surface, but reaches the bottom of the sea, making clean-up even more complicated.  (Source: Save the Planet)

The sea can no longer be like this.

What can we do?
First, take care to dispose of plastic in the most correct way. By sorting it.
And then try to use less of it; replace water bottles with reusable thermos flasks and contribute, as much as we can, to pollute less. Drink tap water, without depriving it of its organoleptic properties. With the AQUA device you can.
